Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
SATAscent is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that education should be available to every student, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We actively work to improve the accessibility of our platform and strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Current Accessibility Features
SATAscent incorporates the following accessibility features:
Perceivable
- Sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Dark mode support to reduce visual strain
- Descriptive page titles on every route (readable by screen readers)
- Alt text provided for meaningful images and icons
Operable
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable (Tab, Enter, Space, Arrow keys)
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- No content flashes or rapidly blinking animations that could trigger photosensitive seizures
- Skip navigation links to bypass repeated header content (where applicable)
Understandable
- Language of the page is set in the HTML tag (
lang="en") - Form inputs have associated labels
- Error messages identify the issue and suggest corrections
- Consistent navigation across the platform
Robust
- Built using semantic HTML5 elements for compatibility with assistive technologies
- Tested with modern screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Compatible with major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and mobile platforms
Known Limitations
While we work toward full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas of SATAscent are still being improved. Known limitations include:
- Some AI-generated practice questions may not have full screen reader optimization; we are actively adding ARIA labels.
- Interactive charts and analytics graphs may have limited accessibility for users relying solely on screen readers. We are working on providing equivalent text-based data summaries.
- Third-party components (Stripe payment forms) are accessibility-managed by Stripe and may have their own separate compliance posture.
Assistive Technology Support
SATAscent is designed to work with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom and text scaling
- High-contrast and reduced-motion OS preferences (we respect
prefers-reduced-motionandprefers-contrast)
